Update: I've had this wok for a while now, using it on an induction stove, and I can't be happier. If you've read or heard that you can't cook with a wok on an induction range, it's not true. I'm sure it has to do with wok quality. The wok heats very evenly and it DOES heat up the sides, which is needed for stir fry. If you're deep frying, the oil needs to be evenly heated and indeed, the wok heats oil very evenly. This wok on induction, works much better than my old wok on gas. I've never owned a flat bottom wok, so I don't know if it cooks better because of the flat bottom, induction, or combination thereof. You get a lot for your money with this wok.When I bought my range with an induction cooktop to replace my gas range, I only had to replace 2 things. One was my moka coffee pot, because it was aluminum. The other was my carbon steel wok, because it had a round bottom.I research everything before making a lasting purchase. I decided on this particular Wok, because of the wooden handle, the lid, and the wire rack.I wasn't sure how well an induction range would stirfry given the dynamics of induction. But I didn't need to worry. This wok work perfectly on the induction hob. I've learned that induction will keep the temperature much more level than a gas range. Also, when stirfrying on induction, I keep it on high. I fried battered tofu and it came out golden brown with no oiliness. Everything else turned out as well, or better, than stir-fry on the gas range.All I do is clean the Wok with my blue 3M non-scratch scrub pad and hot water. It comes out clean and with just enough oil to protect the pan, keeping it seasoned. I will make my own seasoning wax out of bees wax, coconut, and canola, oils to use on it and my other carbon steel and iron pans. If you're interested, the wax seasoning is made from 1 part bee's wax to 3 parts high temp oils (use 2 or 3 different high smoke point oils).So, 1 ounce of wax to 3 ounces total of all oils.To double use 2 ounces of wax : 6 total ounces of oils 2 ounces of bee's wax 3 ounces of coconut oil 3 ounces of canola oilMelt, mix, then pour into a covered container for room temperature storage. Use a small amount on a paper towel to rub in, then heat pan. Clean out excess that doesn't absorb into pan.
