I'm not an expert, but I don't see how it could be any better. There are no burs or sharp edges anywhere. No scratches or surface abnormalities. The rivets are tight, low profile inside the bowl, and neat outside. Hammered texture looks nice to me, and will aid in holding food against the side. It came double bagged with no rust and a faint oil smell from the coating. I haven't taken my calipers to it, but the bowl seems like a normal thickness (may measure and update later).After I wash, heat, and oil it will, I anticipate having it for years and years to come. I plan to use it with my Weber Genesis using the crafted insert. Will update if I have any problems.I don't know what other people expected, but this seems perfect to me.Update: It fits perfectly in the crafted insert for my Genesis.
